The record and the reflection are different things
Keepsake uses AI as an editorial and transcription aid. It does not silently replace the person whose life is being recorded.
Human-authored records
The dispatch headline, body, media, and selected context form the editorβs record. When transcription is used, its output remains editable before it becomes the published text.
AI-assisted material
Editorial opinions, summaries, and other derived outputs are labelled separately from original records. They are interpretations and may be incomplete or mistaken.
Historical demonstrations
The approved Lewis & Clark demonstration identifies its public-domain transcription source, distinguishes journal language from modern additions, and provides citations where modern factual context depends on another historical source.
Corrections and limits
Generated material is not historical evidence. Content that cannot meet its rights, provenance, accuracy, and disclosure gates is excluded from public discovery rather than presented as authoritative.
